CLAIRE BREWSTER

An invitation to travel

Claire Brewster’s work is to recover, cut out from old maps and atlases from which she creates delicate, intricate and detailed forms all related to wildlife and flora.

As a call to nature and its treasures, The FREE BIRD illustrates the flight of a free bird in the city of Paris and the fact that nature is everywhere even in the most urban of environments. The bird is placed on the map with a meticulous cutting and reveals the smooth white, translucent and bright enamel. With its volatility, The FREE BIRD wall plates gives us a flight of poetry and makes us want to travel.
